History
When director Jan Vitters founded Vitters Shipyard in 1990, the yard primarily focused on building hulls. Soon thereafter director Louis Hamming came onboard. The yard at that time consisted of a small team, one building hall and a few containers serving as offices.
Vitters Shipyard delivered their first yacht in 1993, the 28 metre (92 ft) Aphrodite. Soon thereafter followed the 48.5 metre (160 ft) Thalia. This yacht was at that time one of the largest sailing yachts worldwide. Both Aphrodite (I) and Thalia have many nautical miles under their keel, yet still perform well and to Owners’ and Crews’ satisfaction.
