Team members from Vitters Shipyard were among the engaged audience at Vripack’s 11^th Edition of VriThink’s Night Out (VTNO) 2025, held at Amsterdam’s Rode Hoed on Monday, 17th November. The fast-paced event, dedicated to the open-source spirit of innovation, this year partnered with the groundbreaking Sailing Yacht Zero, currently in build at Vitters Shipyard.

The evening featured eleven expert speakers connected to Project Zero, each delivering a concise PechaKucha-style presentation – 20 image-only slides each lasting 20 seconds. They shared challenges, learnings, and breakthroughs from developing the first vessel of its size and comfort level to be powered entirely by renewable energy.

Notable presentations included James Wilkinson of CarboLink, who presented “Passive Power: Rethinking the Role of the Mast, Mark Leslie Miller of Dykstra Naval Architects discussing “Sailing. Reinvented.” and how hydro-generation transforms energy at sea, and Sandra Jutte of Goltens exploring the digital twin technology that goes “Beyond the blueprint.”

Bas Peute and Niels Van Karsen from Vitters Shipyard attended the event, connecting with the broader project team and industry peers. The evening underscored the collaborative ethos at the heart of Project Zero, which is designed by Vripack, with naval architecture by Dykstra, and built by Vitters.

The Shipyard looks forward to continuing its work on this transformative project, inspired by the shared knowledge and visionary thinking showcased at VTNO 2025.
